Established in 1984 by the French Ministry of Culture, the European Heritage Days have become an unmissable event, allowing everyone to (re)discover the richness of heritage in all its forms.

This year, an exciting new feature enriches the program: the NEXUS, Istres’ new cultural and digital space, will open its doors with immersive virtual reality experiences, interactive games, discoveries from the Micro-Folie digital museum, as well as a conference.

Another highly anticipated highlight, the bus tour of Air Base 125, will offer a unique opportunity to explore this emblematic site, usually closed to the public.

Many other events will also punctuate these days: discovery of the Château des Baumes, guided tour at the Polaris Art Center, discovery of the Saint-Étienne Chapel, the 33rd Historical Meetings organized by the Amis du Vieil Istres, a focus on the Bergeries de Crau with exhibitions, conference and traditional songs presented by the Cultural Heritage Division, not to mention the playful heritage highlighted by the Tourist Office through games, sound walks and fun trails.
