To celebrate European Heritage Days and the 500th anniversary of Adam de Craponne’s birth, join us for an afternoon exploring water—from its role in history, science, literature, and heritage to its development and current challenges.
On the program:

A presentation of the collection work by Mo Abbas, Juliette Itturalde, Benoit Guillaume, and Zabou, carried out during the opening day of the René Char Media Library on May 30, 2026: an exhibition and distribution of a booklet containing drawings and quotes.

From 2:00 p.m. to 2:30 p.m.
The choir of the Michel Petrucciani Metropolitan Conservatory in Istres will perform *Songs for a Peaceful World*, a program of Scandinavian, Baltic, and American songs celebrating peace—a heritage that is more precious than ever.
The Children’s Choir of the Michel Petrucciani Metropolitan Conservatory was founded in 2025. It brings together nearly 70 young choristers as part of the Music Classes with Flexible Schedules (C.H.A.M.) program.

“La Crau, Land of Water”
Presentation of two educational models by SYMCRAU (Syndicat mixte des nappes de la Crau) on water management in La Crau.

“Water Course” Game
A mix of puzzles and giant dominoes, this game lets players create their own network of canals and discover how they have evolved and been used.
Ages 8 and up

“Craponne: 500 Years” Exhibition
This exhibition is accompanied by heritage documents from the Resources & Memories department on hydraulic heritage and water management.
Alongside this, a screening of a film directed by Frédéric Marty featuring drone footage of the Roquefavour aqueduct.

“Mission Heritage”
An awareness-raising workshop/game centered on the theme of the 2026 Heritage Days: “Heritage in Peril.” The public is invited to reflect on the threats facing our heritage and ways to preserve it.

3:00 p.m.
Storytime: “A Drop of Water”
Clément Goguillot invites the audience on a sensory journey along the water, blending storytelling with excerpts from books. Join him on a journey on and in the water...

Lecture: “Adam de Craponne: A Benefactor of Provence” by Michel Méténier

6:30 p.m.
Presentation of the reprint of the booklet “Les sentiers de l’eau” by the Cultural Heritage Division.
Screening of the film “Ultra Trail au fil de l’eau,” which chronicles Théo Bourdarel’s challenge: a 110-km trail run along the Marseille Canal. The screening will be followed by a Q&A session with Théo Bourdarel.
