A fun, active game for the whole family (ages 4 and up) that combines orienteering and rock climbing to bring to life the legend “La Crau, Burial Place of the Giants.”
During the fall break, the Tourist Office, the POC, and Climb’Up invite children ages 4 to 17 to participate in the Rally of the Giants, a game combining orienteering and rock climbing that offers a unique way to explore the activities available in Istres.
Inspired by a Provençal legend, “La Crau, Burial Ground of the Giants,” this rally takes you on a series of challenges to find six missing words and piece together the story.
First stop: the POC (La Crau Obstacle Course)
Meet at 2:30 p.m. for an orienteering race! After a few instructions and a brief introduction to using a compass, use your powers of observation to find the first three words of the legend. (Duration: about 40 min)
Second stage: Climb’Up
Head to Climb’Up, about a 10-minute drive away, to take on new climbing challenges and discover the last three words. The routes are suitable for children ages 4 and up, with supervision provided by professionals. (Duration: about 30 min)
Your mission? Piece together the entire legend! But beyond the game, the Rallye des Géants is above all an opportunity to spend quality family time together and try out new activities in Istres.
