Provençal traditions, water jousting, family entertainment, an equestrian show and live music await visitors during the Istres Festivities. The event concludes with a spectacular fireworks and drone show featuring 300 drones.
The Istres Festivities offer a weekend packed with Provençal traditions, popular entertainment, performances and music. The celebrations begin with traditional water jousting on the Étang de l’Olivier, organised by the Société des Jouteurs Istréens, followed by the spectacular Gonzalez Horse Show, where horses and riders combine elegance, harmony and impressive equestrian skills.
On Saturday, Provençal traditions take centre stage with the jousters’ challenge, a parade and traditional dances performed by Lou Trelus, the Gonzalez Horse Show parade and an abrivado organised by the Toro Club Istréen through the town centre. Visitors can also enjoy a traditional aioli meal with live entertainment, while Camargue culture enthusiasts can attend the traditional Camargue bull event at the Palio Arena.
Throughout the day, families can take part in fun challenges and games organised by Pijette et Compagnie, including the popular espadrille-throwing contest. In the evening, A-Live Music will pay tribute to Michael Jackson before performing a lively selection of pop and funk hits.
The festivities will conclude with an exceptional closing show featuring a unique fireworks display accompanied by 300 drones on the Charles-De-Gaulle Esplanade.
