Discover “Heritage in Peril” through hands-on activities, video games, a lecture, and workshops focused on the arts, crafts, and heritage. Explore the “Arts & Crafts” collection at your leisure and enjoy the children’s activity booklet.
Heritage in Peril: Revitalize, Resist, Reimagine
Artists draw on traditional skills and heritage to reinvent artistic forms, narratives, and practices. Through a fun and digital program, Micro-Folie invites you to discover the connections between heritage, the arts, and crafts.
All day long, explore the “Arts & Crafts” collection at your leisure and enjoy a children’s activity booklet, available at the Micro-Folie reception desk.
Saturday, the 19th
• 10:30 a.m. – “Discovering Stained Glass” Workshop | Ages 3 and up | 1 hour
Young children explore stained glass through colors and the play of light, then create an image inspired by this art form.
• 2:30 p.m. – Ubisoft educational video game “Artisans of Ancient Egypt” | Ages 10 and up | 15 min
Discover the skills of ancient Egyptian artisans and their work in painting, sculpture, metalwork, and architecture.
• 3:00 p.m. – Ubisoft educational video game “Bronze in Argos” | Ages 10 and up | 20 min
An immersive guided tour exploring the city of Argos and bronze sculpture—from its significance to its creation.
• 6:00 PM – Lecture “Heritage and the Harmony of Times” | 1 hour
Emmanuelle Luciani, artist and independent curator, explores the connections between art, heritage, and philosophy, and how contemporary creation can reinvent the legacies of the past.
Sunday, the 20th
• 10:30 a.m. & 11:00 a.m. – “The Materials Box” activity | Ages 3 and up | 30 min
Children touch and observe different materials before matching them to objects in the collection.
• 3:00 p.m. – Workshop with Jean-Baptiste Janisset | Ages 8 and up | 2 hours
The artist presents his creative process, inspired by the ornaments and symbols of built heritage, and then invites participants to make plaster casts of heritage symbols found throughout old Istres.
Activities require registration, except for the self-guided tour of the collection and the activity booklet.
