This lecture invites you to explore the origins and evolution of the “table calendale” in Provence, from the 16th century to the present day, as well as the many traditions associated with it.

Among the Christmas traditions in Provence, those related to the table hold a special place. The famous 13 desserts, now known throughout France, are part of a set of customs that blend ceremonies, rituals, and culinary traditions.

Lecture led by Sandrine Krikorian, Ph.D. in art history and tour guide.
