To celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Istres Shepherds’ Festival and the International Year of Pastoral Landscapes and Pastoralists, the Resources & Archives Department of the media library invites you to an afternoon of games centered on transhumance.
This family game session is built around the “La Routo” educational trunk, a veritable treasure trove of pastoral history. It contains a dozen original games, bilingual in French and Italian, designed to explore the life and work of shepherds past and present: the routes of the great transhumance, breeds of sheep and herding dogs, shelters, tools, and the vocabulary of the trade, among other things.
From the Crau Plain to the Alpine valleys of Piedmont, follow in the footsteps of those who have been part of “La Routo” for centuries!
