Presentation
Icon of the European music scene, singular voice of Les Rita Mitsouko, Catherine Ringer is at L'Usine today to tell and sing the poems of Alice Mendelson.
. "To age well, it's good to have the vice of joy," says the poetess, a survivor of the Vél' d'Hiv Roundup, who persists in experiencing the tiniest everyday events with radiant joy and lucid wonder, and who urges us to "never rush to live" with an acute awareness of the world. Now 97, Alice Mendelson has devoted her life to writing about love and celebrating female eroticism in a bold, powerful and generous language. Preserved in her archives, these texts would no doubt have remained hidden were it not for the admiring gaze of Catherine Ringer, whose father was a friend of the author.
