ROMANIQUETTE BEACH, SUMMER ON THE WARM SAND
This beach, located east of the town, is a favourite among holidaymakers, owing to the quality of the location, the panoramic view of the etang de Berre and the easy access. Its design makes it possible for many summer visitors to benefit from an equipped area with a diverse leisure offer.It is secure with a lifeguard point and independent toilets. Parking is available nearby.
Snack bar and entertainment all summer
There is a snack bar on the beach. You can eat in a landscaped area and enjoy the specialities of the sea or savour an ice cream by the water in peace.And evening events are staged all summer. 2020 concert programme

RANQUET BEACH, A LITTLE BIT OF PARADISE
Ranquet beach stretches over 1,850m2 to the south-east of the town, and is a key element of the neighbourhood. Its layout and that of its immediate surroundings reinforce the family identity of the site. The beach is equipped and supervised, and is perfect for some well-earned relaxation.During the summer, you can access Ranquet beach by electric tuk-tuk for free, from Monday to Friday, 12 noon to 6:00pm, and on weekends and holidays from 12 noon to 8:00pm.
It has been awarded the ‘Démarche qualité eaux de baignade’ label for its water quality.
Istres council and the Public Interest Group for the Management and Rehabilitation of the Etang de Berre (GIPREB) have jointly established procedures to ensure the quality of bathing water on the beaches. Since 2013, this approach has ensured the ‘Démarche qualité eaux de baignade’ label for the water quality.Find out more about the Quality of bathing water
A PLAYGROUND FOR WATER SPORTS
The etang de Berre is an incredible playground for anyone who loves water sports!
On this vast body of water, you can try lots of different activities. Istres has a marina with 200 mooring rings and a water sports centre on the same site, which add to the energy on the etang. So, you can experience the joy of the water with windsurfing, dinghy, catamaran, jet ski, water ski, rowing, and live aboard boats.
