Meeting with the "Voyons voir" association and artist Elodie Rougeaux-Léaux (morning) and hands-on art workshop with the artist (afternoon)
From 10 a.m. to 12.30 p.m.
First, Céline Ghisleri will present the work of the "Voyons voir" association and some important upcoming projects. Then Élodie Rougeaux-Léaux will talk about her creative process and personal work.
In May 2022, "Voyons voir" welcomed Élodie Rougeaux-Léaux, a young artist and graduate of the École d'art d'Aix en Provence, to the Defend farm in Rousset for a research and creation residency dedicated to emerging creation. In the countryside, the artist could give free rein to her desires, without constraints of space, storage or conservation of organic matter, and engage her practice in research around wool. An incipient collaboration with a young shepherdess enabled Élodie to explore a living material whose value on the market is almost negligible today, yet which abounds in a notorious potential that today's societies are struggling to grasp.

Practical wool workshop - felting
Élodie Rougeaux-Léaux offers an introductory wool workshop dedicated to a particular technique: felting.
Using various wools collected by the artist in Provence, washed and carded, we'll explore the different stages in the transformation of this raw material, before getting down to making felted pieces ourselves. Each participant will have the opportunity to make a wool felt piece, letting his or her creativity run wild (bring a towel you no longer use).
