The Theatre de l’Olivier can seat 580 guests. Two rooms adjoining the auditorium host exhibitions, rehearsals, meetings, talks and shows for young audiences.
Performances of theatre, dance, circus, music and young audiences are programmed, with as many appointments throughout the seasons: artists residencies accompanied by rehearsals, workshops of artistic practices, conferences, performances «hors les murs» outdoors or marquee and finally the rendezvous of February: the festival of arts of gesture the slender. The proposals are multidisciplinary with an approach to the Scriptures of dance and theatre in all their diversity today. Regional pole of cultural development since 2003 and Scène Conventionnée for dance and the arts of gesture since 2004, the Olivier Theatre strives to offer a cultural diffusion of quality, open to the largest number, both ambitious and adapted to the specificities of the territory. The olive Theatre is a welcoming and friendly place located in the heart of the city, easily reachable with a free parking nearby and a bar «Le Café de L'olivier», in private management, place of meetings of the spectators and of artists, ideal to prolong the evening. On the facades of the Olivier theatre stand two low reflief representing allegorically dance and music, made by sculptor Antoine Sartorio, heavily involved in the development of monumental sculpture from between the two world wars in Paris.
