A major investment in the Istré project for Marseille Provence 2013, this is a big top-mirror-type structure that hosts live arts performances. It is a place of residence and experimentation for circus and street arts companies. The originality of this structure lies in its ability to combine the exterior appearance of a circus big top with the mirrors and precious woods of a cabaret interior, in the manner of the mirrored big tops of the early 20th century, built in the spirit of Art Nouveau. The highlight of this structure is its central stage, which encourages interaction with the audience. With a diameter of twenty meters and a surface area of 400 m2, this 1930s-style cabaret can host concerts, circuses, plays, balls, tea dances... and any cultural or festive show...
Inaugurated on February 4, 2012, Magic Mirrors is preparing for its new life at CEC les Heures-Claires.
Ten years after its installation on Place Champollion, near the multi-purpose hall, in the run-up to "Marseille-Provence 2013, European Capital of Culture", the 400 m2 big top, made of metal, wood, velvet and mirrors (with around 2,000 components!) is now being set up on the specially-designed plateau at the Centre Educatif et Culturel, close to the Maison Pour Tous, Maison de la Danse and Espace 233.
