Presentation

Dive into the history of the Pavillon de Grignan with Jérôme. From the estate of Adam de Craponne in the 16th century to its current ownership by the City, discover the transformations, transfers and changes in use that have shaped this emblematic site.
Built around 1575, this small château was originally used as a hunting lodge.
It first belonged to the Craponne family and then, until 1853, to the Counts of Grignan.

The oldest part was most likely restored during the reign of Louis XV, whose style it reflects. The other section, in Louis XVI style, dates from 1792. Now owned by the City of Istres and used as a reception venue, it was most recently the property of André Turcat, the famous Concorde test pilot.
