Discover the Rassuen pond and the species that nest there with the Ligue de Protection des Oiseaux!
Herons, coots, flamingos and other waterfowl are present all year round and regular visitors. In early spring, teal and other ducks come to spend the winter.

Etang de Rassuen is a prime biodiversity site, recognized as a "natural zone of floristic and faunistic ecological interest" (ZNIEFF) as well as a "special protection zone" (ZPS) under the Natura 2000 initiative. These statuses highlight the site's ecological richness and the presence of remarkable species. Birds are protected here, so they can find the food they need and breed in complete safety.

Candy Bellon, naturalist coordinator with LPO Paca, will accompany you on a short trail lined with rushes and reeds. Armed with binoculars and cameras, you may be lucky enough to spot a grey heron or a white stilt. Numerous species of waterfowl can be seen on the 40 hectares of water and marshland. To the south of the pond, there is a drier zone offering a completely different environment, with other bird species to be observed. In the silence of this unspoilt setting, the quacking of ducks and birdsong add to the pleasure of the eyes.
