Les arénes d'Arles

The Camargue natural regional park is located at the edge of the Mediterranean Sea, inside the Rhône Delta mainly between the two arms of the river. It lies across 3 towns: part of the town of Arles and Port-Saint-Louis-du-Rhône and over the entire town of Saintes-Maries-de-la-Mer.

The Camargue, with its delicately balanced nature, is a large flat area full of ponds, salt marshes, rice fields, and arid regions in the in middle of the land of sun, wind and salt water. A rebellious and legendary land of adventure, the Camargue is home to a large variety of birds and free-roaming animals. It is also a land of man who has always tried to tame it, just as he tames bulls and horses, the companions of the herders and “manadiers” (livestock farmers), symbols of the land’s activity and traditions.

Come visit and take a pleasant stroll in Arles, an outdoor museum and a Roman town full of history.
